I was handed a text file containing invoices. (65 fixed lines per page).
What i need to do is to scan the 65 lines for each page and see if a certain
word
is contained say at line 10, or line 35. If found I need to print to one
file, if not found I need to print to a second file, so I end up with two,
one containing the criteria and one not containing the criteria.

would arrays work? of just readling lines with INPUT?

any guidance appreciated...

You don't even need Access, you can use DOS commands to solve this
problem. Syntax of the DOS Find command (find a text string in a
file):

FIND "text-to-find" filename

You can use the redirect symbol > to put the lines w/ found data into
another file (search for the name "Johnson" and put in the indicated
file):

FIND "Johnson" c:\invoices.txt > c:\Johnson_invoices.txt
