placing Mailto in an Access table

Hi
I am trying to place an e-mail link into a cell of an Access 2002
table.
Have tried setting the cell as both a hyperlink and as plain text
and putting the following into the box:
<a href="Mailto:Us*********@mysite.com">SEND EMAIL</A>
Neither way will give me a link in the results page of a search of
this table - it just shows it as text.
How do I go about this? Each recordset has a unique e-mail address.
Thanks in advance

Hi,

Access database is not like an HTML table
You can store the e-mail address in a field, and then if you want to show it
on a form as a hyperlink, you should add a label control and set is's
Hyperlink address property to "mailto:" & the_value_from _database

If you want to show it on a web page, you can get the field's value from
database, and the format/create the web as you want.
But this also depends on what Web development platform you use (ASP, or
ASP.NET)

If you provide more info on what you want to accomplish, I can help.

Bogdan Zamfir

Hi Bogdan.............
.................and thanks for your offer.

The website deals with messages posted by people
looking for 'missing friends. Currently the meassages
are stored in a flatfile database which is rapidly becoming
very large and unwieldy.
Please look at:
http://www.missingfriends.net/searchforces.html
to see how the data is presented from the flatfile.
Basically, I want to achieve the same result from an
access table
Thanks
Richard

Hi Bogdan - have sorted it but not very elegantly.

Have made the email field a text field, placed only the
following into it:
Mailto:Us********@mysite.com
then on the form have given the cell "treat as hyperlink" and
"cell contains html" properties.
Trouble is user sees all of the above including the mailto:
Now - if I could just wrap it in a button!!

Dick
