Updating/transferring database

Hi,

I am currently creating a database which will be stored on a network.
Somebody will take this database out on a laptop will they will input
new data via a form. Somehow this new version will have to be
transferred back to the old one. I'm not sure if it would be
necessary to take the whole database out on the laptop as I've heard
there could be problems synchronising the updated verion with the
existing one.

I'm not sure if it's possible to create the records needed using the
laptop and then save it as a csv file before connecting it back to the
networked database. If the laptop was connected to the network back
at the building would it be feasible to run a macro which then imports
the csv file to the existing database with the new data on it? How
would this be done?

I am open to any suggestions on how to go about doing this.

Thanks

James

James,

I create applications of this type on Palm Pilots. One or more interfaces for
collecting field data are created on the Palm Pilot. The Palm is taken into the
field and data is entered into the Palm. The Palm is then returned to the
central location (main computer) and the data collected on the Palm is
transferred to the main database. If you would be interested in me creating this
type of application for you, contact me at the email address below.
