Regaining form focus after opening a table.

Hello peoples,

This is a last resort, as I've run out of search strings I can think
of for this problem. There may very well be a simple and logical
solution that I have overlooked.

Thanks in advance for any help...

I have created a simple database that greets the user with user forms
to make for user-friendly practicality. From these forms, all
available tasks within the database can be accessed.

One such task is that of importing data from Excel and making a table
with it. This I can do successfully, and I can bring the new table to
focus (using the 'DoCmd.OpenTable' method) so that the user can look
at it and enter or change data if they so desire.

My problem is, when they close the table, I wish for the main user
form to return to focus. Instead, when the table is closed the form is
nowhere to be seen.

Any solutions, or even pointers to a good starting place would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks again,
VanIkyn

If a form is open, & the user clicks a button on that form to import the
table, & the form displays the table with a DoCmd.OpenTable, the form will
still be there when the user closes the table. So, the form must be closing
itself (when it does not need to), or, the user must be accidentally closing
the >form<, as well as (or instead of) the table.

Rather than opening the table with the Excel data you should open a form based
on the table. If you open the form from your main user form, when you close the
form, you will be back to the main user form.

Thankyou all for your help,

Tom, this sounds like a sound suggestion and one that I will follow
up.
At least this way I have control over events that happen to the new
form, which is precisely what I need.

Thanks again,
