Reports/Forms don't always produce same results

When our users run reports, they don't always produce the same
results, even though the data has not changed. We have several large
reports containing several subreports. Users can run the report and
the report can have a subreport that shows data. They then run it
again, and the subreport is empty. No error is produced. The problem
is not limited to a specific subreport and can seem to occur
anywhere!?!

We also have instances where forms will display data correctly one
time, and then the next time it can display no data (subsequent
viewings will then show the data correctly again). No error is
produced and the underlying data has not changed.

Our setup is as follows:
* MS Access 2000 Frontend Database using the Access Runtime which is
linked to several SQL Server 7.0 Databases (SP4 installed) on the same
SQL Server. Jet 4.0 Service Pack (SP7) is installed.
* The Frontend application is installed on a Citrix system running on
Windows 2000 SP3.
* All users use the same Access Frontend.

One of my suspicions is that the problem maybe occurring when other
users are running 'heavy' reports at the time, which maybe bogging SQL
Server down at times. Perhaps some soft of time out is occurring,
preventing other queries to not complete. However, I would suspect
some kind of error message.

Alternatively, could it be a problem where users are accessing the
same Access Frontend via several Citrix sessions?

Has anyone seen this type of problem before? Any ideas?

This has been stated here so many times ...
Every user should use his/hers own FE.

Hope this helps

Arno,
Thank you for your 'to the point' response. I must admit that I have
spent some time searching through this list, but obviously was not
searching on the right keywords (or problem). Your comment has at
least given me some direction and I will focus on your suggestion as
being the possible cause of our problems. Perhaps if I had the time
to monitor this list more frequently, this would have been obvious to
me. Unfortunately, this is not the case.

Therefore, I have made changes accordingly and will post whether or
not your suggestion has resolved the problem.

Just when I thought that your suggestion had solved my problem, I've
had one of my users report the same issue. All users are now
definately using their own frontends.

I had a user print out a report, and it printed 18 pages, which was
incorrect. She then printed it out again and it came out with 48
pages. I also had another user who did a screen print of a form (Form
with a subform). No data was printed in the subform, although it was
there when she did the screen print. Subsequent screen prints worked
successfully.

The users that have experienced the problems are all using different
HP and/or Minolta printers, so I can't link the problem to a specific
print driver.

Any other thoughts
Thanks
Craig

I also found a reference to KB Q103180 which I'm going to look at further.

The Problem still happens after following all of the above
suggestions. Any other ideas that people can think of?

Thanks
