Cant Create New Records with split DB

I have a db that is split and shared on the network. I gave the user a
custom menu to use.
We both use the same tables of course.
On my PC I can create new records using their menu on my PC, on there PC
they cant,
WHY ??? All users have admin rights and folders are shared with editing
allowed.

Any Suggestions ?

Thanks,

Dave

What do you mean by "using their menu"? You might need to expound on this.
WHY ??? All users have admin rights and folders are shared with editing
allowed.

All users must have *full* permissions in the folder in which the data file is
located (create/edit/delete, etc.). If an LDB file (a JET locking file) can't be
created, the session will be read-only.

All Users do have full permission as administrator and each folder is shared
with editing rights.

The database has two custom menus, one for me and one for the other
users. The only difference is that their copy only has some of the menu
options. Both db's use the same tables. All users have administrator
rights and the folder where the db resides is shared with editing
allowed. I can open the other users copy on my computer and it works
fine. Its just when I open it on their computer that you cant create any
new records.

Are you saying that all users have administrative privileges on the network ...
or in Access? Your statement "each folder is shared with editing rights" does
not tell me that every user has anything other than "update" permissions on the
directory and the files contained therein. The network user must have full
permissions granted by the network administrator on the directory. If this is
what you are telling me, then let me know. In any case, you might find the
following MS Knowledge Base article helpful:

ACC2000: Introduction to .ldb Files
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=208778

You also did not say whether there were any error messages that are encountered
by the other users, nor which version of Access is involved. If your problem is
not network related, this information might be helpful.

Okay, got it.

This still seems to suggest a "network permissions" issue, Dave. See my last
reply to you elsewhere in this thread.

The Version of Access is XP (2002) and the folder where the mdb is
located is shared with full rights. No restrictions have been
implemented in access. There are no error messages. The Create new
button is dimmed out on all forms.
Both in access and on the network users have admin rights. There are
only two computers. Not sure if it is a network problem or not.
