Graph from joined query has multiple dots per row

we need a graph that has information from 2 separate tables (max, avg, and
min on one table, and actual data on the other). I can join them into 1
query but the resulting query repeats the max min avg values for every row
where the actual value exists...this is hard to explain.

example:
date | max | min | avg | value
oct 2 | 10 | 5 | 7.5 | 8
oct 2 | 10 | 5 | 7.5 | 10
oct 2 | 10 | 5 | 7.5 | 5
oct 2 | 10 | 5 | 7.5 | 6
etc...

when I plot the chart it looks weird because the 10, 5, and 7.5 values are
plotted alongside each other and distort the graph line.

How can I change the query so that the max, min, avg values only show once.?

thanks in advance.
