Can You Embed Fonts in an Access Database?

Sorry if this is a dumb question - bit of a newbie to Access:

Just getting to grips with OfficeXP Developer, the intention being to be
able to deploy a simple Access application to various people.

Works great, even got the references installed on the destination machine
ok.

But, we (our company) have designed all the front-end forms using our
"corporate font", Frutiger.

Is there any way to embed our font so that the application looks the same on
all machines on which it is installed?

Any ideas/suggestions will be gratefully received.

Cheers

I don't think so. If properly licensed you could always distribute the
font with your application file. I do this with some bar-code fonts my
apps use.

If it's a corporate font, can't you assume it's available?
Or test for it (check for the file in the <windows dir>/fonts folder),
and then complain bitterly if not found?

Sorry Tom, I didn't explain my situation too well.

Yes, the corporate font IS intalled on all the company machines, and thus
the application works fine.

But we're now looking to use the app as a marketing tool and send a version
out to clients, who obviously don't have our font.

It's not looking possible is it?

Thanks,

On Win2K and up that's all I've ever had to do. Win9X has been spotty
though.

Ok, so I tried to get the OfficeXP Packaging Wizard to include fonts in the
setup but it doens't seem to want to do it.
In the past I've been able to package up .pdfs and specify the target
directory no problems.
It doesn't seem to like font files.

Any ideas?

It's beginning to look like there are, and that is perhaps why I can't do
it.

Or, as an alternative, could I write a setup.bat file that just copies the
fonts to the windows\fonts dir, then run the application install .exe? Bit
messy maybe. Thoughts on that?

Thanks to everyone for the ongoing help.

Sorry for replying to myself.

Spent the last couple of hours playing around with the Packaging Wazard
again.
I have succeeded in importing the fonts into the package. The problem seems
to have been that you can't import directly from your system's font
directory (c:\windows\fonts), but you can from any other directory that
happens to have your fonts in it.

Strange.

But Now I have a new problem...

The new package (including the fonts) installs fine. It places the fonts
happily in the windows\fonts directory.
But when the application is run, it complains with the following error:

"There isn't enough free memory to update the display. Close unneeded
programs and try again"

Clicking ok causes the error to dissappear and the application remains and
is completely usable except that all the text (in my newly installed font)
does not appear.

Digging a bit deeper, after a reboot, the app works fine. No error. Text
appears. Font intact.
My best guess is that after a font is installed (at least in this fashion)
Windows requires a reboot. Does this sound likely?

If so, is there anyway of incoporating this reset into the installation
package?

Thanks everyone who has helped so far,
