An OCX might be requireed if, for example, the class library asked the user
to select a database. (It might use n OCX to facilitate that.) But one
should not be required, AFAIK, simply to get at the data in the database.
That should only require the existance of MS Jet (the database engine for MS
Access) on the user's PC. The class object could open the database using
automation, & get at its data using Data Access Objects (the standard data
access method for Jet 3.x). I don't think any of that requires an OCX. But
as I said, perhaps the class library object does require an OCX for
extraneous (non data access) things, like letting the user select a file.
Can you ask the providers of the class object?

OpenRoad is a 4GL from Computer Associates. I need to include an
MS-Access Class Library object in the program, and then have access to the
properties it provides. This should allow me to specify the MDB file name and an SQL
command to run, and then have access to the dataset in the OpenRoad
program.
I believe there is an OCX file that needs to be registered to allow me to
include the appropriate class.

database?

I'm wanting to connect to an MS-Access MDB file from an OpenRoad
program using ActiveX. Can someone tell me the files I need to use/register
for Windows XP? Any other help or suggestions would be most appreciated.
