Listbox issues

P: n/a
I am attempting to write a database for non-profit that I am working
with. I have some limited (academic) experience with Access. I'm
having some trouble with a listbox on one of my forms. Access will
not let me create a record using the form unless there is a value in
the listbox. The listbox is not a required field. Is using a blank
record in the listbox the way to clear up this problem?

Any reason you're not using a combobox? What happens if you use a combobox instead?

If it won't allow you to create a record w/o a selected value in the
ListBox then the field the ListBox is bound to is a Required Field.
Check the table the form is bound to, in Design View, & see if the
field is Required.

Or - You have some validation routine that requires a selected item in
the ListBox.

I was using listboxes because I wanted to limit to the list. I
tried using comboboxes that were limited to the list, but that didn't
help, same problem.
