Running meterage totals

P: n/a
mik
I have created a table that has running totals from our printer
meters.
We get charged by the page. Each month I enter in the printer Id,
date, and current meter reading.
The meterage may be Jan 2450, Feb 3111, March 4090 etc etc.
I am trying to to get the total number of pages printed per printer
per month.
We have about 80 printers so I want this done automatically when I
enter in the meterage for that particular amount. How would I go about
this. I'm stumped.

Try working through the following KB article available from Microsoft:

ACC2000: Referring to a Field in the Previous Record or Next Record
http://support.microsoft.com/default...roduct=acc2000

Method 2 of this article includes an odometer example for creating a mileage log. I
believe, with some simple adaptation, you can use the same ideas to solve your issue.

I think what you want is a Group Select statement -
Select PrinterName, Year(PrintDate), Month(PrintDate), Sum(PrintPages)
From tblPrinterTotals
Group By PrinterName, Year(PrintDate), Month(PrintDate)

Where PrinterName, PrintDate and PrintPages are the fields in the
table you created - tblPrinterTotals (I made up the names)......
