Repairing Access 2000 mdb hangs the utilites.

Hi all,

I try to open an mdb and it gives error message :

The database 'c:\MyDB\PDz.mdb' needs to be repaired or isn't a database
file.
You or another user may have been unexpectedly quit Microsoft Access
while a Microsoft Access database was open. Do you want Microsoft Access
to attempt to repair the database ?

When I click Yes, the C&R process runs for a second (three blocks of
progress bar) then it hangs.

I try to C&R it using JetComp utility and it also hangs after creating a
huge a size of destination table (four blocks of progress bar).

I also try to repair it through the ODBC Administrator and the
administrator also ends up hang.

Is there any other way to repair the database ?

This is very important data so I need your guys's emergency help.

Thanks in advance

The file in question is certainly recoverable. Access' own inbuilt
repair feature is rather weak, and jetcomp only really adds very
limited extra functionality (for use in addressing index corruption).
While your file is certainly recoverable, it will not be recoverable
with any Microsoft tool or feature.

We can recover the file for you if you wish to send it in. Our site
has details. We can have it back up and running within the next
couple of hours. Let me know if you'd like our assistance.
