Here is the application. Its a simple application really. I have a
db created in Access 2000 which opens to a switchboard created by the
switchboard manager.
Now the problem. This only works on some computers. I installed
access 2000 on two brand new, out of the box, computers and on one it
gives me a run time error and the other it doesn't. Both computers
are running windows XP. Though the operating system doesn't seem to
be the issue since it also happens on other computers running 2000.
Haven't had this problem with 98 yet so I can't say if it does the
same.
The computer(s) that it doesn't work on I get runtime errors when
trying to open the switchboard. Not sure anyone has a real good
solution to this yet since I have looked for and tried all of the
suggestions I have found thus far which include: checking to see what
is registered and registering the .dll that was recommended(which
sometimes works for converting databases). I have applied the service
packs for office/access/windows none of which seem to help either.
Its a bit irritating that it doesn't work for everyone even though
they all appear to be running the same stuff. I would like to fix
this issue and get it so that everyone can use the switchboard
properly.
The computers which are affected can not even create a switchboard
because of this problem. And I have no idea which computers will be
affected until I put the database on the computer or try to create a
switchboard on that computer.
Any thing that will help me be less clueless would be appreciated. I
have tried to fix this for some time now and I'm getting a bit
frustrated with it.
Thanks
