Global variables? Transfer selected fields to unrelated form

P: n/a
Hello,

I have a form that I need to transfer some of the info into a second form based on a different
query. The Id field is the same for data sources for both forms, but are based on queries that
join different tables. I need to create a new record in form 2 by pulling the ID over__I have that
part done-- and 2 fields over and filling in on form 2. The record source between the 2 forms cannot
be joined except by a many to many relationship--so I just want to drag Field1 and Field 2 to the
new form and fill in the like fileds on the second form. I know this stores data in 2 places but
this is the way I must do it. What is the easiest way to drag the values from Field1 and Field2 on
form 1 to Form2? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Form1--based on a 1-many join betwen a person table*(one side) and an events table
Form2--based on a 1-,many join between a person table (one side) and an events2 table
Cannot join events, event2 and person tables becasue it creates a many-many relationship and the
data in like fileds between Events and events2 is not in good shape.

If you open the second form from the first one using a DoCmd.OpenForm
statement, you can pass the information in the OpenArgs argument.

Otherwise, you need to select an appropriate event for the second form, say
the Load event or the Activate event, and use code something like:

Me!txtSomething = Forms!frmTheFirstFormsName!txtSomething
