Importing from Excel

I have an excel document that has a field called Account Number.
I have an equivalent field in an Access database.
When i import the field info from the excel sheet to access, only some of
the numbers come through. It seems like numbers with over 9 digits do not
come through.
In the access destination table, the field size in the account number field
is set to DOUBLE. I have tried to set it to LONG INTEGER but still no
success.
Help.

I have have tried to replace the excel sheet with an access database
thinking that i could simply import the account numbers from this temporary
access database into my existing access database.
However I notice it does not transfer the account numbers from the temp
database directly into my "account number" table of my existing database.
All that happens is that the table (from the temp access database) is
recreated in my access database (in the tables section).

Try using a Text field.
