select distinct criteria?

Is there a way of specifying how select distinct works? In other words I
don't want it to work on every column, just a selection of them.

What I'm really looking for is ways of removing duplicates where a few of
the columns may be different.

Cheers,
Chris

If the columns are static to be distict on, create another query with those
columns and make it display distinct and add that query into your current
query.

Sounds a good idea, but you'll have to run me through it!
I've got my query with distinct on 3 columns, but how do I 'add' that to my
current query?

Chris
