Will I run into problems if I download MDAC 2.6 SDK and install it on a Windows XP machine?

P: n/a
The following site has a copy of mdacsdk.exeon it.

I have an XP machine I wish to enable for an ODBC connection
to a remote Access 2.0 database file across the InterNET. I was
thinking of downloading and installing mdacsdk.exe (MDAC 2.6 SDK).

But when I got there & read this...

The MDAC 2.6 SDK is for developers who are building applications using
ADO, OLE DB, and ODBC. It contains updated documentation, headers,
libs and typelibs, new and updated sample applications, and developer
tools. The MDAC 2.6 SDK is designed for use with the MDAC 2.6 Redist
(mdac_typ.exe), which is also available for download.

System Requirements
1) Supported Operating Systems: Windows 2000, Windows 95, Windows 98,
Windows ME, Windows NT
2) 42 MB of disk space plus another 14 MB of temporary disk space
during installation. The Windows Installer needs to be installed on
the machine.

.... I wasn't sure if MDAC 2.6 SDK was designed to install onto an XP
box and I wasn't sure how to tell if I had "The Windows Installer"
installed on my machine.

Can someone shed light on these two uncertainties?
