Security Update Disables TableDef AttachSavePWD Attribute?

P: n/a
After installing a few security updates yesterday, I was surprised to
discover that none of my MS Access applications work today. After doing some
research, I have discovered that when the DAO TableDef.Attributes property
is set to dbAttachSavePWD, I now get an "Invalid Argument" error where I did
not before. My theory is that one of the security updates has rescinded
support for dbAttachSavePWD (I suspect update 820761, but I haven't
confirmed that yet).

In my case, this is a very serious problem. I have created many applications
which use dbAttachSavePWD. Those applications are critical to my clients'
business. I am concerned that one day soon my clients will blithely use
Windows Update to get the latest security updates (just as I did), and will
immediately lose functionality.

I expect to spend the next few days in crisis control. Meanwhile, I would
like to learn more about this issue and discover whether I have interpreted
the situation correctly. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Am I
correct that the security update is messing with the functionality of
long-established code?
