Keeping Sub Reports Together

P: n/a
Can anyone tell me how to keep a sub report together on the main
report. Once I drop the sub report onto the main report all of the
sorting and grouping keep together options on the sub report go out the
window, and the main report doesn't seem to have anything that I can
find to move the whole sub report to the next page if it won't fit in
it's entirety. TIA -

You can set the KeepTogether property for the section
containing the subreport.

If you have a bunch of other stuff in the section that you
don't want to include in the KeepTogether, then create a
Sorting and Grouping level using a constant expression such
as =1. This allows you to spread the stuff across two
additional (header and/or footer) sections, each with its
own KeepTogether property.

Marsh,
(or anyone else!)
is there a good tutorial anywhere (in a book, on the web, whatever) on
Reports. I've got most of the rest of Access down. (Umm... on second
thought, probably not...), but I'm TERRIBLE at reports. Any good
references/tutorials except ADH? (I already have that, but it deals
mostly with the exceptional cases, not the "these are ALL the things
you can do with an Access report...")

Thanks!

I don't know of any such comprehensive report books, etc.

As for myself (and I suspect many others), I learned what
parts of it I understand by reading the Help files and these
newsgroups and then trying numerous combinations,
permutations and implications of the various features I
stumbled across.
