UPDATING FIELD ENTRY ON ANOTHER TABLE

P: n/a
Hi, Can anyone help me with some vb code as i have little or no know
of this programming language.

I have a SQL server containing my datatbase and using an Access front
end.

I have two table: CONSUMABLES, TASKS
Both these tables contain CONSUMABLE_ID.
They both also contain STATUS (regards the consumable status, in use,
dead, stock etc).

I have the consumable ID's linked in the relationship table.
Each new consumable record with have the STATUS entered at that point.

When a new task is created in TASKS i want to update the STATUS string
not only in TASKS but also in CONSUMABLES against the relevant record.
(ie where the CONSUMABLE_ID's match).
I think i need some code to do this for the 'ON Click' function within
my Enter/New Record button but any other suggestions would be helpful.
