Unlinking a subform - Microsoft Access / VBA

I have a main form and a subform linked by "ID". I have a means for
searching for a client and displaying the info in the subform.
However, if the client is not found from the main form I would like to
be able to add it through the subform. At the moment that is not
possible becasue of the link between the two. Is there a way to unlink
by using code on a cmd button on the subform "Add new client"? TIA -

I'm sorry, I'm having a little trouble following what you have and what you
want to do. Is it the main form or the subform that contains "client
information"? If the answer is "both", the next question is "why?". Please
clarify here in the newsgroup, not by e-mail. Thanks.
