Suggestions for Date and Count?

MVA
Hi everyone,

I am developing a small database for a voluntary organisation in the UK
using MS Access, it's a basic membership type database. One of the purpose
of this database is to give specific statistics for their funding and annual
reports.

I have a table that includes a list of the organisation's members, along
with a date of when the member applied and went on a waiting list, as well
as a date of when they actually came off the waiting list and became
members.

What I'm struggling with is I need to calculate how many people joined the
waiting list, and how many people became members in Each Financial Year (1st
April to 31st March)... does anyone have any suggestions as to how I should
go about doing this? Even without the "Each Financial Year" constraint I'm
not sure how I would approach this... The one way I did thought of was to
have a list of financial years where there is an option for the user (the
organisation) to add to the list, and then do a query with the Financial
Year as some sort of variable? But I have no clue how I would do that in
Code or query...

I'm hoping someone can show me a suggestion or solution to how this could be
done.

Many thanks in advance.

Regards
Will
