ODBC - DSN Creation

Hi All,

I'm using Access 2000 + MySQL

I can setup a DSN manually and connect via ODBC but it's a bit of a
PITA

What is the smart way?

Can you connect without a DSN or can you make one programatically

How to create DSNs programatically:
HOWTO: Create and Remove a DSN in Visual Basic (Q171146)
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-GB;171146
HOWTO: Programmatically Create a DSN for SQL Server with VB (Q184608)
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-GB;184608

How to avoid DSNs:

Afraid, though that I don't know what the parameters are for MySQL (although
I think Carl Prothman's http://www.able-consulting.com/ado_conn.htm has the
appropriate DSN-less strings for it)

Wow! Good answer! Thank-you :-))

Now if you will just write the database for me as well I will be
sorted ;-)

Cheers.
