Lookup/Default values.. help!

P: n/a
i was wondering if anyone could possibly help me!

i have a ms access database, and in one of the tables, one of the
fields is a lookup column, with several possible values. what i want
to do is when i create a record and choose a value for the lookup, i
want the next record to default to the value in the previous record in
the lookup field.
e.g. if record 1 has 'example' as the value for the lookup field,
record 2, when tabbed into it would automatically have 'example' (the
previous record's value for that field) set to the value of the lookup
field in that record!
hopefully i've explained well enough, if anyone could help me, i would
appreciate it.
thanks

I haven't found a simple progra-matic way to do this at the table
level (yet). But, if this is to ease the input for users there is a
shortcut that'll do exactly what your seeking.

When the user is in the new record, and they want the value of the
same field of the previous record, all they need to do is hold the
contol key and press the single quote key and the value of the last
record (same field) will copy directly in. If they did this for every
field of the new record, then they basically have a duplicate record.
(of course, where duplication is not allowed, there will be errors!)

Probably not the full solution of what you wanted, but hope this
helps.
