Access VBA - Filtered query - Export each row as unique excel workbook - build button at each row to navigate to workbook

VBA - MS Access
What is the best way to approach this problem?
I am trying to put a programming spec together.

1. I have a filtered query of data on a form
2. Each row of data needs to be exported as a unique workbook
3. File name for each workbook is derived from the row of data
4. An existing excel template is chosen for the new workbook based on data in the row
5. The data in the query changes so the exports will become updates
6. Maybe a master button on the form for the first bulk series of exports
7. After the first bulk export there needs to be automatically created at each row of data in the form a command button to Export/Update/Goto Workbook
8. If new data in the form then there needs to be a way to deal with that

I'm not sure I understand what you want from us.

You have a spec of sorts there. Probably not clear enough for a programmer unless they already have experience of your data but I doubt we could help you pad that out without your understanding of what you mean. You may need a clearer understanding yourself based on the language but again, I can't see what we can add.

If it helps, I'd say you have a pretty good starting point. Clarify your thinking a little on how you expect this to work and get it down on paper. Obviously separate out the bits you're explaining are already in place and what is required from the programmer - essentially make clear what is information & what is request.

My problem is that I do not have a full understanding on just how access "wants" to work.
For example: can buttons actually be placed on a form at each row of data in a list box?
What happens when new data is added to the existing data in the list box?
Can the buttons be managed for new data coming in? -- Is this a stupid way to work the problem in access?
I guess i am trying to figure out how to get help understanding enough about access, to write a good spec for a programmer without being an expert in Access. I agree with you - I need to start with a list or flow chart of what i am needing to do.

In that case I would suggest that you ask each question that you need help with in it's own separate thread.

For example: can buttons actually be placed on a form at each row of data in a list box?
I'll start by saying that ListBoxes are Controls that are provided as-is and you can only configure them using the properties provided. So, No. A ListBox can't contain Command Buttons full-stop. You may want to investigate Continuous Forms for that requirement.

This thread is now limited to this specific topic so I suggest you post any other questions you need in others. Multiple threads is a good thing rather than a bad thing. It helps to keep things simple.

Fair warning:
Any discussion here of the other points is very likely to be removed - either by the OP or others wishing to comment.

Don't hesitate to ask specific technical questions. Nothing's too simple or obvious. Simple / obvious questions are probably the ones most searched for so it's good for us to have them available on the site as it means people generally can find their answers here - and that's what we want to be really - a place where you land whatever your question :-)

Then I use the automated quick office Export to Excel Link then I have a button which returns the user to a form view. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
