Displaying Current Record Value

24 New Member
How would I go about displaying the current record value in a label?

This is the code I'm using and all I get is "1" in the label

Dim rst As New ADODB.Recordset
Dim cnn As New ADODB.Connectio n
Set cnn = CurrentProject. Connection
rst.Open "Elements", cnn, adOpenStatic, adCmdTable

Label21.Caption = rst.AbsolutePos ition
rst.Close

The problem that I am having is that I am using continuous forms and when I put that code in it is the same number throughout the form. What I'm looking for is for it to increment when a new instance of the form appears.

I have a results table that is 5 columns wide. the recordset is returned with 48 items. I have no problem displaying 5 per row until I hit the last row where i get a ADODB.Field error '80020009' Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record. My question is how do I close of the table row when I reach the EOF? i.e

I have a form with a child form. In the child form there is a list of names that can grow quite large. On the parent form I want to display the first name from the child form. I set up a test box that is populated with the code =subfrm_media_review_sec_party.Form!first_name & " " & subfrm_media_review_sec_party.Form!last_name It works except that when I flip through the names it populates the parent form with the name of what ever...

I have a database (datatrek.mdb) with a table named DATA. The table has a date/time field with default value = Now(). It has 100 records in it entered over a 50-minute period. I would like the query to display 100 records with a new, calculated field showing timelapse between time of record entry of current record and time of entry of previous record. For the first record in the dynaset, I'll settle for a value = 30 seconds. For the...

I posted this to the asp.db group, but it doesn't look like there is much activity on there, also I noticed that there are a bunch of posts on here pertaining to database and asp. Sorry for cross-posting. I am trying to build a "checklist", where a user can navigate to an ASP page on the intranet which shows a list of "questions" that the user can check off. I am trying to figure out how to do this so that it is scalable, but I am...

Hi I've been using the 2 year old link below to repeat values from previous record field into current corresponding field. It's worked fine for text but the last piece of advice was to use the same logic for a date field. i.e. theValue.defaultvalue = "#" & theValue.value & "#" I can't get this to work for some reason and I can't figure out why. Can anyone out there help? Thanks Repeat value of previous record field into current...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
