Dynamic monthly cumulative report

26 New Member
Hi guys, i'm looking to create a report with a table showing totals (running and cumulative) of education sessions attend by the staff at a hospital.

I'm trying to get the table to show something like this:

Month/Year | No. of sessions in this month | Cumulative total
Jan 07 2 2
Feb 07 3 5
Mar 07 3 8

I can do the simple functions theoretically needed for the monthly totals and cumulative total, only i'm not sure how to make the month/year row titles automatically create themselves and add to the end of the report as new months come along. The end users will not want to have to add a row on the end of the report every month.

I hope there is a way of doing this, only i've considered a few ways and all of them require someone changing the report layout regularly.

Has anyone got any ideas??

Thanks for your time guys,

Chris

Hi Chris

If you create groups on the report for Month and Year and put the totals in the group footers does this solve your problem.

I'm trying to build a database that will handle the monthly billing needs of a small company. I'm charting everything out and here's what I see: table for customers sub table to track payments received. No biggie, right? Well, here's my problem. I don't know how to tell access to modify everyone's account balance each month. And I can't just always assume that their monthly bill is $16 just because their balance is $16. If I do that...

I am pulling my hair out trying to solve this one (presumably because I am not particularly trained or skilled at access!) I have a query which summarises the variances that each of my sales guys have created from their targets. This summarises by week, and works fine. I then re-use this into a cross-tab which presents a nice orderly table. My boss would like to see these variances accumulate, so that we could make a nice graph in...

I've searched this group and have not found any posts since 2001, so I'm hoping that now there may be a better way. I have a need to generate a report that looks like a outlook monthly calendar view. What I'm struggleing with is how do I get the first day of the month to start on the correct day. Also how to fill up the days in the week prior to the first day with the remaining days of the previous month. I've seen some older posts...

Hi I a trying to create a chart that reflects monthly cumulative totals from a query. The query fields show sales opportunities forecasted invoice date (OppForInvDate), Opportunity Description and Estimated Value of the opportunity (OppEstVal). All I want is to chart, cumulatively for each month, the totals for the month? Why is it so difficult, or is just me? Mike

I want create a report based on the crosstab query which normally returns about 50 - 60 columns. The columns have names of the counties and they keep changing for every session. Is there a way to program a dynamic multi-page crosstab report?

Hello, I am using a dynamic crosstab report to track performance statistics for my company and I have hit a problem. I would like the option to track stats daily (for the last 7 complete days), weekly (for the last 6 weeks) and monthly (for the last 6 complete months). Daily and monthly are not causing me a problem - I have used the following code to construct the query: strXT = "TRANSFORM Sum(Query2.STAT) AS SumOfSTAT " & _...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
