Well.. there's a limit on the amount of rows and columns for excel. Excel is more limited than Access. You can have 65k rows and, I think, 256 columns. Anymore than that and you kill Excel.

Hello, I have a question, how can I open Microsoft Excel from .NET. I only need to open a new file in Excel and paste some information and set the Microsoft Excel as the enabled aplication, so the user can continue working in Excel and he'll save the information I pasted. I tried this but doesn't open Excel at all, but it does save the file c:\test.xls with the value "This is column B row 2" in colum B and row 2: Dim xlApp As...

Hi, I have an excel sheet which is inporting tables from a live website. I am using the MS SQL 2000 DTS Import/Export wizard to get the data into a database on my server. Because the excel sheet is always open to update itself every 5 minutes, SQL is returning blank tables because the file is locked..If I close the excel sheet the Query works fine. Anyone any ideas ? I am using ASP to open a excel file. I've noticed that Internet Explorer adds a number in square brackets to files downloaded from the internet and opened directly (i.e. by clicking 'Open' and not 'Save'). This creates a big problem with downloading Excel spreadsheets as square brackets are not a valid filename character inside Excel worksheet name. When I click open, it opens the excel sheet with the sheet name as .xls.xls. Then we...

I have a spreadsheet saved as an XML spreadsheet so I can manipulate it easier (and don't need COM). When I'm done, I want to display to the user. Currently, I'm using simple JavaScript in my PHP file to display the file when complete: echo '<script type="text/javascript"window.open("'.$file_nm.'")</ script>'; Since the file is .XML, which defaults to the browser to open - the above code will display the XML as raw XML (text) in a new...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
