This is not an Access issue. You must go into your control panel and set the regional and Language options to English(united kingdom).

  1. Define the Data Type of the underlying Field in the Table to Currency NOT Text.
  2. Set the Format Property of the Text Box that will display these values to Euro.
  3. The figures will now automatically de displayed with the Pound Sign.
  4. More than likely, you have the Field's Data Type set to Text, which is why the sign is not being displayed.

Your suggestion does not work for fields that are set to the currency data type.
>> This is a regional setting as per both JConsulting and ADezii for fields assigned to the currency data type.

Proof of point, I am in the USA, my regional setting is of course USA currency. As you can see from the following image, attempting your suggestion results in a table level error:

Of course, if I change the region to UK, the error goes away and the pound sterling is accepted.

Hi all, I have a simple PHP page that takes values from a form and puts them in a database (MySQL). The code is in a file test.php, which I have typed in at the bottom of this post (please excuse any typos). This page is not a production page - I created it just to try and solve the £ sign problem I am having. When I put the pound sign (£) into the input box and submit the form,

Hi there, I am using the .Net XML Serialization classes to create XML strings. This has been working fine up until the point that one of the strings contained a pound sterling symbol. The application that is processing the output complains about the character. Both the strings and the application are using UTF-8. If you view the text in Notepad the pound symbol looks fine, but if you view the hex, there is a character preceding the...

This should not be an issue, but it is. I'm sure that someone knows what little piece of code is needed too persuade Access 97 to include a currency format for labels (Avery, mailing type). Have had no problems with currency formatting on reports - just the labels. Doesn't matter if the associated field in the Table and Form have Format as Currency, because on the labels (for instance $50.00) prints as: 50 The only way to get it to print...

I have a subform that contains a currency field. If I tab my way to the field, everything works as desired, a number can be entered, and when I leave the field it is rendered as a currency amount. But if I click on the field with the mouse and enter a number, it shows up like this: 250.00$0.00 with the $0.00 appended to what I type. I have to delete it each time. I've tried a few VBA OnEnter solutions, but nothing has worked so...

i have an html/cgi input that takes in values to a mysql database, however, if i stick in $20 instead of 20, it crashes the program because of the extra $ sign. I was wondering if anyone has a quick regular expression in python to remove the $-sign if it is present in the input.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
