2473 The expression On Menu you entered as the event property setting...

I have an error #2473. I don't think it is related to References.
I rolled out an A97 mde file that runs on several machines - but
gives me this error on one workstation??? Here's the error:

Unexpected error occurred in Sub ButtonOne_Click on frmMainMenu...
2473 The expression On Menu you entered as the event property setting
produced the following error: Automation error.

Am wondering what the implication of "On Menu" is about. Ideas?

What function is running when you click ButtonOne? Is it a macro that runs a
function?

MLH,

As a question to you, I just started posting here today. Any idea why my
replies to questions will be posted, but if I create a new post, it doesn't
show up?

Thanks!

Whoa - I'm clueless. I use Free Agent. Most of its functionality is
greek to me. I would suggest going directly through Google's access
provided at
http://groups.google.com/group/comp....-access/topics
and see if the situation changes for you. I don't think it will.

Hope that helps.

Code runs in procedures that are not invoked by macro.
I must study up on the code a bit more before to narrow
down the possibilities.

I am trying to get around the problem "The expression you have entered is too complex" for a select query. (The example below is not the expression that is giving me headaches.) So I am thinking that I just need to do the parsing and calculating in an event procedure for an "On Click" event. My question is: If I have a query field in access97 that parses date (in format

Please forgive me for using the wrong term here or there. I'm an old Excel 4 macro guy who didn't convert to VB and I'm tinkering with an Access 2000 DB. I'm sure there is a simple Access 101 answer for this. I have a subform which the user selects an item description from a combo box from a table. I want to obtain the cost for the item (another field in the table) also. I've been able to produce the second data field by rewriting the...

A97. If you set a forms properties to ShortcutMenu = No, the entire form is disabled from displaying a shortcut menu. If you set the property to Yes, all controls have a shortcut menu. I have a form that I would like a shortcut menu on 1 control and no shortcut on any other control in the form. But the controls that have no shortcut display a default shortcut. Access help states " If you set the ShortcutMenuBar property to a value

Hello all, I recently inherited a SQL 7.0 Server db accessed by a 2000 Access interface. I have a Windows service that requests web pages from a site using an HttpWebRequest object. When I try to request a page from an ASP.NET 2 site, I get a WebException with message "The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error." I found a post that suggested to catch the WebException to retrieve the actual HttpWebResponse object for more information. The response returned is shown below. At first I thought this was a...

Hi, I have a list box with a context menu. When I right click the menu appears as expected. However when I select an option on the context menu the menu does not close. The click event on the menu is fired but the menu remains. Is there anyway I can get this menu to close when I select a menu option?

So close to finishing and then this error jumped out at me: "The expression On Open you entered as the event property setting produced the following error: Member already exists in an object module from which this object module derives" This has been caused by the (extremely enjoyable) exporting of my database into another despite me making sure that all reference .dll files where added and copied to the correct locations. I think I...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
