Norcal user group?

I read a recent thread on user groups and I thought I'd see if there was
one in Norcal. I thought there was one in Cupertino and perhaps in
Foster City but I couldn't find any reference to them on Google.
Anybody have a link to them?

Hi, Salad.

There used to be two Access user groups in California, one in San Diego, and
one in San Franscisco, but I don't see the one in San Francisco listed any

Feel free to start an Access user group in your area, though. San Diego and
Portland are both a long commute from where you're at. ;-)

Thanks for the link. What's odd is that I saw the web page for the one
in Cupertino that takes place at Microsoft about 1 1/2 months ago but if
I were given the option to find the link on Google or die, I'd be dead.

I couldn't find the VB group that used to be at Charles Schwab either.
Sometimes Google doesn't really help in a search.

Starting at http://www.apcug.org, the Association of PC User Groups, and
ending up at http://cdb.apcug.org/locdtst.asp?LCID=CA, I got a list long
enough I had to scroll. You'll have to see what you can determine for the
user groups in the area of interest.

OK, I've Googled for this and cannot seem to quite find what I need. So, I turn to the Gentle Geniuses here for help. Here is what I need to do from within a script: Given a username and a password (plain text): 1) Validate that the password is correct for that user *without actually logging in*. 2) If the password is valid, return a list of all the groups the user belongs to. Otherwise, return some error string.

Our system administrator set up an NT server group in order to allow our users to login to our application via https to our sql server. The group appears as a User in SQL Server when you look at it in Enterprise Manager. That said, I can not see the users associated with the group from Enterprise Manager, but know they can login to the database. The problem is this. When we login via the web we get access to the database without...

Many technological innovations rely upon User Interface Design to elevate their technical complexity to a usable product. Technology alone may not win user acceptance and subsequent marketability. The User Experience, or how the user experiences the end product, is the key to acceptance. And that is where User Interface Design enters the design process. While product engineers focus on the technology, usability specialists focus on the user...

Hello there Is there a way through dotNet to check if a certain user is a member of a specific group? I use ADSI to get the memberships of the user then compare them to the group I want to check, but this way the user has to be a member of this group directly and if he is a member of a group that is a member of that group he will not be considered a member of the group I am checking although he is implicitly. so basically what I need is...

We've been struggling on how to determine if a local user is already in a local group. We have code (C#) that creates a local user, if the user doesn't already exist. And, we have code (C#) that creates a local group, if the group doesn't already exist. Both of these work fine. Now, we need to check whether the local user is already in the local group or not. We have code (C#) that adds the local user to the local group, but we...

Hi! Does anyone has experience with manipulating MS Active Directory objects? I'd like to delete some users from a group, but so far I couldn't find anything about this. There is some good stuff about retrieving data out of the AD (thanks to Tim Golden!), but how can I manipulate or change AD objects like users, computers and groups with Python? Is there somewhere a documentation or some code?

i'm trying to create a 'kiosk' type of workstation, based on a particular login (where the desktop is pretty much locked and the user won't have access to run commands, change taskbar, etc). Now, the OS of this syetsm is WIndows Server 2003. I'm trying to achieve this using LOCAL Group Policy Editor (i'm not worried abt domain right now). Now, i created an account called "TENANT" and made it a member of groups "user" and "Administrators"....

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
