Access 97 and Lotus Notes

Hi Everyone,

I'm not sure if this is even possible but I thought I'd ask anyway.

I have an Access 97 database that contains construction projects and
other associated details and is updated on a regular basis by
construction engineers and the like. My problem is that ocassionally
(actually, more like daily) emails are received from other project
engineers with numbered comments and ocassionally answers or comments
to each numbered comment. The emails are always received in Lotus
Notes and someone ends up having to copy and paste each individual
comment into a relevant field on a form in the Access DB. Is there a
way to somehow automate this process?

I've been trying to think of a way to work this out and as I said
above, I'm not even sure if it's possible but I thought I'd put it out
there in case anyone else has come across the same problem and found a
solution to it.

Many thanks for any advice, Dean...

YOU can access emails in Lotus Notes from Access. YOu would need to
ensure that the project email had the correct project ID in it and then
design the exact process for what gets posted where.

I once wrote a extract for Lotus Notes emails to store in an Access
datbase. That could serve as a starting point for your solution. Let
me know if you want a copy.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the prompt response. A copy of what you did previously
would be really helpful and maybe I can learn a few things along the
way, thanks.

All the best, Dean...

I am trying to use the following code to send an email to Lotus Notes from A2K. (Retrieved from Tony's excellent Access Email FAQ.) http://www.fabalou.com/VBandVBA/lotusnotesmail.asp I am trying to activate the VBA through a button on a form and I am getting no response. I believe it is due to haveing the Public Sub within the form, but when I convert to Private Sub I get the same, lack of response. The error that I get for each test...

I discovered, with great excitement, this article http://www.davison.uk.net/vb2notes.asp when researching methods for emailing from Access via Notes. Unfortunatly, when I run this I get a Run-time error. When I run it on an XP machine it crashes, but on an NT box it just generates an unknown error, handled by the error handler. I have debugged and stepped through the code and have narrowed the issue to the point at which the...

I'm not a Lotus Notes developer but thanks to this group's archives have successfully created a function for sending Lotus Notes emails from Access. The follow code works great except I want to remove my name from the 'Sent By' portion of the email. These messages are sent using my client session of Lotus Notes, using a database called 'Tech Team' The resulting email message headers contains (Bold, the From name) 'Tech Team'

Hi all, is it possible to access a Lotus Notes database even if Lotus Notes is not installed on current computer? I have an IIS and want to create a Webservice which accesses data from a Lotus Notes Server. I found solutions if Lotus Notes is installed locally, but on my IIS Notes is not and will not be installed. Is it nevertheless possible to read data from the database? Thanks!

Ok folks... I apologize now if I'm covering territory already discussed. I'm sick as a dog right now and have got to get some work done on this datbase. Let me explain what I'm trying to do. I work as email tech support fo a computer manufacturer. Anyway, up until recently all emails sent from customers for help came into our Lotus Notes. The powers that be have changed us to an online forum sort of thing. The problem we are having is...

Hello, I have a problem where a Notes field shows up in Access (via ODBC connection) but the value is either zero or blank in Access. I've verified the field is not zero or blank in Notes. Background - This is an existing ODBC connection from Access to Notes. For all other fields, it works fine. I've added a number field to the Notes database. It shows up in Access but never has the correct value. Is there something simple I'm...

I am trying to access data in a Lotus Notes database, from Access. The Notes database is release R5. I installed NotesSQL 8.x and have it working. However it chokes on one of the tables and references problems with the dates. If I create a query, without these dozen or so dates, I can access all the data. However I am guessing that most of the dates are correct and only some are bad.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
