Opening databases with out MS access

Hi,

I have an Access database file with all the switchboard commands and
what I want to do is to try to access the switchboard command without
opening microsoft access. Which means i want to access the database
without opening access. I am seeing if I can make this file an
executable file but i dont think this is the solution. If anybody have
any ideas, please help. Thanks

You cannot use Access interface without having Access installed into your pc.

You can use (but not modify the design of) an Access database if you have
the Access runtime, as packaged by the Office Developer Edition (pre-2003)
or by the Visual Studio Tools for Office 2003 System.

If, in your view, installing the Access runtime qualifies as "having Access
installed", then your answer is correct.

I have several Access 2003 mde databases. When I try to open them in Access 2002 I get the following error: "The Visual Basic for Applications project in the database is corrupt." Interestingly I can open the mdb files of the same 2003 databases in Access 2002 without problems. To my understanding the file formats of 2002 and 2003 are the same and this problem shouldn't exist. And why is it only the mde files that are giving the...

Is there a way to open an OLE DB database from within Access? I would like to use the Access GUI with its table and query explorer to examine a database only available through an OLEDB provider interface. I have seen several references on how to open an OLE DB database through VBA/ADO code but I wouldn't know how to go from there to actually have the database available in the Access GUI...

How can one tell Access that "this" DB is fine the...

I'm getting the following error message both when opening and closing my dB. The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find the input table or query 'MSysAccessStorage'. Make sure it exists and that its name is spelled correctly. I'm using Access 2003 but the file format is Access 2000. -- Message posted via AccessMonster.com

Hi, I have been messing around with automating Access (I am attempting to actually manipulate the Access objects themselves so it requires going beyond data access) from a c# program (long story as to why, but any how...). I am dealing with databases that all have AutoExec macros within them which automatically run when the database opens, which I don't want the database to do. In Access this is bypassed by holding down the shift key. I...

I have some questions that are sort of connected. I use Access 2003. Is it possible to set some properties that can make the Access window open at a particular size? Is it possible to make a form open inside the Access window so that it fills the window completely without borders? I have seen some databases that open and there is no outside borders and the forms all work neatly inside. It looks like the database form is

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
