Regression Testing tools

Hi All,

Does anyone use any regression testing tools with MS Access? We have tried a
few and none seem to work very well with a MS Access Front end and I need
one. Can anyone provide any suggestions?

Thanks

Look in Excel at Tools - Add-Ins - Solver. You will have to export the data
to Excel, run solver and import the results back to Access.

These 1000 (if at all a real figure..) is only the result of
-- 4 years abusing the newsgroups.
-- 4 years blatantly advertising and job hunting.

You only care about making money, and you act as if the groups are your private hunting ground.
So why would ANYBODY ever trust a person like you and hire you?

I think he means load testing, not running regressions or doing
regression analysis...

Do you know what regression testing tools are, Steve? Regression tests are a
standard set of tests that you should run each time you issue a new release,
to ensure that your new code hasn't broken anything.

What you're suggesting has nothing to do with it. Unfortunately, I'm unaware
of any regression testing tools that work with Access, because Access forms
don't expose addressable handles that can be used to ensure that the input
gets into the same place each time.

Wasn't Steve Jorgensen working on something along these lines?

The version he understands is slightly different.
He posts solicitations in the newsgroups and waits for someone to complain.
He the regresses back to childhood and complains that the other kids are

Doug, I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you did not mean
this as an ignorant comment to my response. No, I did not know what
regression testing tools are. Thank you for explaining!

Do you know what data regression is? Data regression is a mathematical
process that uses the actual points in a data set and finds an equation that
can be used to estimate all the points in the data set. The process finds
the most efficient equation which minimizes the sum of the squares of the
differences between the esitmated points and the actual points. Solver and
Goal Seek in Excel use this process. Not knowing about regression testing
tools, I thought the poster was asking about data regression.

Hi, I'd like to ask how do You resolve "resources" issue when writing regression tests in Python. When doing functional tests, I have some resources that might not be available (like database, HTTP server, Selenium testing proxy) and I'd like then to skip test gracefully (not either failing nor green status). Is there a simple way to do this?
