VBA Problem

I am trying to run a query in VBA based upon a query in Access. While
I have pulled out much of the original query while debugging, I still
am getting an Error in SELECT statement (error 3141) when attempting to
run it. I have pasted the query below:

Dim MyDB As DAO.Database
Dim MyRst As DAO.Recordset
Dim MySQL As String

Set MyDB = CurrentDb

MySQL = "SELECT [qry_Base_Extrac t].Aging_Load_Dat e,
[qry_Base_Extrac t].Group_Long_Nam e,
[qry_Base_Extrac t].Group_Short_Na me, " & _
"[qry_Base_Extrac t].[FSC Name], [qry_Base_Extrac t].[FSC_#],
[qry_Base_Extrac t].Period_Created , [qry_Base_Extrac t].Inv_Created_Da te,
" & _
"[qry_Base_Extrac t].Inv_Svc_Date, [qry_Base_Extrac t].Inv_Num,
[qry_Base_Extrac t].Inv_Amt, " & _
"FROM [qry_Base_Extrac t];"
Debug.Print MySQL

Set MyRst = MyDB.OpenRecord set(MySQL, dbOpenSnapshot)

....I'm sure I'm missing something simple. Any assistance would be
appreciated!!! Thanks.

You've got a comma here where it doesn't belong:

"[qry_Base_Extrac t].Inv_Svc_Date, [qry_Base_Extrac t].Inv_Num,
[qry_Base_Extrac t].Inv_Amt, " & _
"FROM [qry_Base_Extrac t];"

There should be no comma between your SELECT ... and your FROM
statements. (so no comma after [qry_base_extrac t].Inv_Amt

One way to do this that's MUCH easier is to have the QBE build your
query, then if you hit the SQL button, you can copy and paste. The one
thing to remember, though, is that you have to fix the single quotes.

Hello,

Try rewriting your query without the extra "table" name before each field.
I know that Access puts this in by default when building a query, but it's
kind of cluttered when looking at vba code. Also, I don't think you need
the semi colon at the end.

"SELECT Aging_Load_Date ,Group_Long_Nam e, Group_Short_Nam e, " & _
"[FSC Name], [FSC_#], Period_Created, Inv_Created_Dat e," & _
"Inv_Svc_Da te, Inv_Num, Inv_Amt, " & _
"FROM qry_Base_Extrac t"

That advice will work if the field names are not ambiguous.
The semicolon is indeed not needed, but harmless.

I have a virtual function in a base class, which is then overwritten by a function of the same name in a publically derived class. When I call the function using a pointer to the derived class (ClassB* b; b->func(); ) the base-class function is called instead of the new function in the derived class. All other similar functions (virtual in the base class and overwritten in the the derived class) work fine, it's just this one function. ...

Hi, Continuing my strcat segmentation fault posting- I have a problem which occurs when appending two sting literals using strcat. I have tried to fix it by writing my own function that does the strcat (mystract). Program below. However this appears not to have fixed the problem and I don't know why it shouldn't ? Any further help as to what else I am doing wrong will be appreciated regards

If I have a class with a virtual method, and a child class that overrides the virtual method, and then I create an instance of the child class AS A base class... BaseClass bc = new ChildClass(); .... and then call the virtual method, why is it that the base class's method is called instead of the overridden method? How do I fix this if I don't know at runtime what the child class is? I'm using Activator.CreateInstance() to load the...

Our web service was working fine until we installed .net Framework 1.1 service pack 1. Uninstalling SP1 is not an option because our largest customer says service packs marked as "critical" by Microsoft must be installed on their servers. Now german Umlaute (ä, ü, ö) and quotes are returned incorrectly in SOAP fault responses. This can be easily verified: Implement the following in a web service method (just raises a SOAPException with a...

The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
