Need recommendation for beginner's Access book for client

I will be doing an app for a nonprofit. It would be useful for them to
have a good entry-level book on Access so that they don't have to pay
someone to design all their queries and reports. I'm not familiar with
those books. Does anyone have a recommendation?

I have bought several books on Access 2002, Microsoft Access 2002
Inside Out, Microsoft Access Version 2002 Step by Step, Sams Teach
Yourself Access 2002 Programming in 24 Hours , Alison Balter's Guide
to Access 2002 Enterprise Development with CDROM, and New Perspectives
on Microsoft Access 2002, Comprehensive.

I self-taught myself for 8 months then took an Access class at a local
Community College this summer 2004. We used "New Perspectives on
Microsoft Access 2002, Comprehensive." This is the *BEST*
introductory/ intermediate book on Access I have ever come across. It
will get you up and running in no time at all! I give it 5 out of 5

Alison Balter's Guide to Access 2002 Enterprise Development with CDROM
really delves into every detail, and is good as a 2nd or 3rd book. But
I highly recommend "New Perspectives on Microsoft Access 2002,
Comprehensive." It is tutorial-based and hands on. I haven't come
across any errors, which has been a pleasant suprise! I cannot even
begin to express how impressed I've been with books from the New
Perspectives series of books. They have series on Access, Excel, and
VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), which is Visual Basic for Access
and the other Microsoft Office Suite of Applications.

Just make sure you get the "Comprehens ive Edition" because they also
offer other versions, i.e. Introductory. The Community College I go to
for my Career Certificate program uses books from the New Perspectives
line of books. I got mine at the bookstore, but both Amazon.com and
Course Technology, Course.com offer books from the New Perspectives
series. I have a B.S. in Information Systems and am working on 2
career certificates at my local Community College.

IMHO, New Perspectives on Microsoft Access 2002, COMPREHENSIVE" is
worth its weight in gold!

Hope this helps!

P.S. I'm still a relative *newbie* but I love this book!

P.S.S. I hope this doesn't sound too much like an advertisement, but I
am just soo happy with how this book has helped me, and I'm soo glad I
finally found a book that I really, really like after spending a small
fortune on books that have been just okay.

Hi! I was recently asked what book to recommend for a beginner in C++. I am convinced that you needn't study C in depth before learning C++ (though it helps), but cannot find any beginner's book which isn't aimed at people coming from C/Pascal/Java/Delpi/whatever... However, there seem to be plenty such books for all those other...
