Hi If've just read, that remove() on a list does not actually remove the elements, but places them at the end of the list (according to TC++STL by Josuttis). It also says, that remove returns a new, logical end pointer, so that the following myList::iterator end = myListObj.remove(myInt); myListObj.erase(end, myListObj.end()); is possible and removes the "invalid" items at the end of the list.

Hi, I'm currently building an application in Access and as part of this need to import forms and modules from another database. Some of the imports will be revisions of existing forms/modules so I need to check and see they already exist before importing them so I can remove the old one. I've figured out how to remove the classes and modules before importing the revised version but I'm having problems with the forms. I was hoping to use...

I need to be able to remove <BR>'s that are placed in null fields (Access 97) for blank records when doing html imports. Of course, Access does not recognize the html tags and are invisible. Aside from pressing the delete key twice in each null field to remove the <BR>'s, I have found no other effective way of deleting them. The real data is too randomized to run a delete query against. Using &nbsp; is not an option either. Any assistance...

This has worked before but not now for this project. I'm using vb.net and web services to talk to IIS and read and write to files (image files). I've gone in to the IIS MC and assigned write access to the folder. The I went into window explorer/props/security on this folder and assigned every type of user I could think of and given them read/write access. These users included me, IUSR, NETWORK, Machine\Users, etc... What can I do to...

The formatting system of my HD is NTFS. When I right click on a file in Windows Explorer, I get a Properties Window with only two tabs: "General" and "Summary". I don't get a Security Tab, allowing me to set access permission. Given that the formatting system is NTFS, why am I not seeing the required tab, and why am I not seeing the appropriate Properties form? Please assist.

Is there a reason to use session.remove over session.contents.remove? Don't they both remove the key and data from the contents collection? I assume that session(x) = nothing does essentially the same thing but is actually deleted later by the GC. Thanks, Tom

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
