Subforms into forms

I am having difficulty in adding a subform into my existing form, I
have designed very simply databases in the past & this is my first
attempt at compiling subforms - with little success I may add. In a
nutshell I have multiple variable data (defects) which occur on one
product, on one day etc. etc..

Can anyone advise of any literature that may be of use.

look forward to your replies.

There's a Control Wizard on the Toolbar... the icon is supposed to look like
a "magic wand"... that will lead you step by step through creating and
populating a Subform/Subreport control.

My personal preference is to first create the Form that will be embedded in
the Subform Control, then use the Wizard and specify that as the Source
Object.

My subforms are usually, but not always, a continuous forms view Form
showing multiple related records (if there are multiple records).

Have you tried using the Wizard? If so, follow up with what, specifically,
is giving you trouble.

First things first. Go to Tools,Relations hips and then put your two
tables into the relationship window. then drag your join field from
one table to the other. Once you do that, you should be able to
create a subform and have it work. Just create the subform first and
drop it into the main form in design view. It should do the
linkMaster/LinkChild stuff for itself.
Then you should be ready to go. Otherwise, look up subform in the
help or look at Northwind.

Hi, I have a form (form1) with a large number of subforms inside it (around 20 subforms), There is the possibility of filtering the data using a pop-up form that create/change a query (all the subforms are linked to that query), Once that I create/change the query (using the pop-up form), Is there any easy way to update all the 20 subforms inside form1?. Normally I use to change the recordsource in each subform to show the

Hello, I have an Access 2000 ADP main form called frmAD_OpeningForm that needs to support several possible sub forms. The subform that should appear would be based on the combined bound values of two combo boxes that are located in the form header of the main form. The way I have the combo boxes set up in the main form is to have the user make a selection in each combo box, then click a button named ‘Set' (and labeled ‘Set') to make the...

Hi All, I am developing an Access 2003 project application with the back end in SQL Server 2003. I have a form, primary subform and secondary subform. A tab control takes up all the area of the primary subform. There are about 15 tabs on the tabcontrol. Each tab contains fields from the same table. Related fields appear on each tab. There is one field in the table that needs to be displayed at all times so I created the secondary subform (subform to main form) to display just that one field. Data entry is main form - secondary subform...

I'm just wondering if anyone has gotten around the problem some other way? --Original Thread---

Perhaps this is a design flaw, please let me know. I'm using Access 2000. I have a form with a tab control and 5 subforms within those tabs. The forms match with the tables: Client main, Intake, Financial, Fees, Payments, Bills, Bill Line Items. The design works thusly - Client Main relates to Intake. Intake relates to financial. Financial relates Fees, Payments and Bills. Bills relates to Bill Line Items. On the form, I use the...

In Access 2007 I have a main form with several subforms. All forms are unbound, and the recordsets for the forms are set during the OnOpen-event in the main-form. I use ADO and OleDB to connect to the SQL-server and to bind the recordsets with the forms. Everything works OK when the forms open the first time. In the main form I have a combo that resets the recordsets for all the forms depending on the selected value. When I do this,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
