Trapping a next record event in subform

Hi there,

Does anyone know the simplest way I can trap the next record event in Access
2000 on a subform?

I have a main form with tab control which holds several subforms, and the
subforms are not editable unless the user clicks the "edit" button within
the subform. But I want to lock the subform's textboxes again once the user
proceeds to the next record. For some reason I was thinking form_current
would work, but it doesn't.

I am hoping I don't have to go through referencing the main form, that has
been such an ugly thing to debug in the past. remove the xs to reply
directly or post here. Thanks in advance for any advice ...

Are you using the pertinent *subform's* "On Current" event procedure? I see no
reason why that won't work.

Hello Everyone, Access 2000, I have a main unbound form with a bound datasheet subform . The subform is bound to a query that returns records based on criteria in the main form. The user then double clicks a row on the datasheet subform to open yet another form bound to a table . These two forms are linked by the field. So far so good.

Greetings. I have a Mainform with a subform. The Mainform has single record format and subform has continuous form format. When the Mainform opens, I force allowadditions and allowedits to FALSE (for both the Mainform and Subform). No problem there. However, when I click on the navigation control of the subform to move to the next record in the subform, the AllowAdditions and AllowEdits changes to TRUE. Not good. I set...

I am using Access 2000 as the front end and MS SQL 2000 as the backend. I have a one record form that I set using something like: strSQL = "SELECT * FROM dbo_WBACCT WHERE (((dbo_WBACCT.ACCOUNT)='"423456"'));" Me.RecordSource = strSQL Obviously I only want one record at a time because the database is very big.

I have inherited another developer's database (Access 2003) and with it a problem I'm struggling with. The problem is this. I have a parent-child form pair, which is populated by a table (the parent) and a query (the child). The two sources are linked by an identical unique number. The table populating the parent uses the number as primary key. The child table has no primary key so it can used one-to-many. Users add data through the form...

I have a list of records in a subform that a user can either edit or delete. This is an unbound form. If the user deletes a record, I want to refresh the form, and then position the cursor on the next record on that subform. This seems like that this should be a fairly easy thing to accomplish, but I cannot get it to reposition the cursor on the next record. The following is my code segment: Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! ...

I am trying to move a subform onto the next record with: DoCmd.GoToRecord acForm, "MaintainAssets_edit", acNext but when I do this I get "The object 'MaintainAssets_edit' is isn't open". I know I could easily put the controls in the subform itself but I want the record controls at the top of the page, outside of the subform. Thanks for looking.

I created a code that would take me from the last field in a subform and take me to the next record first field on the parent form. Unfortunately, there is a little snag if I try to use the mouse to click into the subform from the parent form. It takes me to the next record again instead of just allowing me to click into the subform for that record. If I just tab, everything is fine, but this db is being used by others that may not remember or...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
