Printing a Word document on a report via Hyperlinks

We currently use Word documents, saved as OLE objects in the database,
to print letter headings and the like.

As this bloats the database, we would like to store instead the path (as
text or Hyperlink) to an external Word document and then somehow, at run
time, pull in the document onto a report.

Does anyone have any idea how we could do this.

Thanks for any help.

I've got an ACCESS 2000 application that I'm developing. One of the outputs of this app will be to generate a series of 'jobs' which corresponds to a record in the database. Each record will be printed on its own page which I've set up as a report and that's working fine. Accompanying each job is a Word (or Excel) document. Most jobs will have Word (or Excel) documents unique to the record. I know how to establish a hyperlink field...

I am using MS Access to index documents (in this case material safety data sheets), to track what departments they are used in, and to allow users to browse the actual documents that meet some search criteria that they have entered. The documents are indexed, linked, and kept in a special directory. I have been asked to also provide a hard copy of the content of the database and the linked documents, on demand. What I would like to do...

I've been looking for a way to do a duplex print job without a duplex printer. I reviewed some old posts about printing odd pages and found that most of them led to KB article 101075 or an export of the document to Word for duplexing there. I was looking for a VBA method for doing this, so the KB article is right out and when you export to Word, some of the report's text boxes wind up truncated because of some sort of sizing difficulty...

Hello, hope someone can help. I have a request to print word .doc check lists with selected records in Access for surgery procedure cards. I have hyperlinked the word doc's to a field in each record, but do not know how to write the code to open the word doc and print it. I assume this code should be put in the list box print button. As you can see, I have two different reports that go out; one (or more) to Surgery, and one (or more) to...

I wrote a program in VC++ that generates a text file report. I would like to get this report data into a word document that my company uses. I could use bookmarks for reference in the document. Is there some boiler plate code for C++ or VC++ that I could use to edit and add my data to the bookmark locations in the MS Word doc file? After I have updated the MS Word file I need to print it to a network printer. Is there a easy way of...

Greetings, (.NET 2.0, WinXP Pro/Server 2003, IE6 with latest service packs). I've decided to take advantage of the layout characteristics of HTML documents to simplify my printing tasks, but of course it's thrown up a whole host of new issues... I'm generating a multi page printable document in HTML from my app, and displaying it in a WebBrowser control. I've looked into using some CSS

Hi, I am getting into printing with VB.NET 2005 and want to implement the usual capability that a user can select a selection of pages. I have a report that is generated by my application that if the user wants all pages will produce 3 pages. I want to offer the user the ability to select via the print dialog that only pages 1 and 2 of it are printed or possibly pages 1 and 3 but not 2. At the moment I can produce all three pages...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
