The object is corrupt - in Word 2003

We have a document that has several objects (Excel tables) in it. We update the tables each month and then "save-as" the new month. We have one table that can't open. When you right click on the object and select "object" you get the error "The object is corrupt or no longer available".

The title says Word, but this sounds more like an Access question. Can you please clarify?

The answer is, most probably, "....or no longer available"

Did you check the filename?
Did you try to open it in Excel?

Did you try anything yourself, besides posting about things being corrupt in an ancient version of Microsoft Office?
