My suggestion would be to boot from the Vista DVD and start a system repair. Hopefully, that will solve the problem. Or maybe you can get into safe mode and repair whatever's wrong from there. Tried that yet?

i think my major problem is that it wont take input from my usb keybord. and i dont have a usb to ps2 converter. so i whas kinda wondering if there where some file i could edit in windows to force it to make a clean reboot and ignore the whole resume business.
Or am i stupid to think MS would make it that easy. The same way im stupid to think that a OS that cost more than a quarter of my PC should have usb support.

And still, if you are not happy with games on linux, you can try dual-booting Windows and Linux.

That's all good and well but not really my problem. i have done that for the better part of the seven years i have used linux as my primary OS. And no matter how good linux games are they are the are still mostly coloured boxes moving around with massive repetition. They are no arma 2.
And the author of happypenguin should be defenestrated from a basement window multiple times for most horrible webpage in history.
Ohhh sorry i think that was linuxgametome....

To come back to the problem, Windows shouldn't have a problem with a USB keyboard. However, you might have to activate it in the BIOS. How you can do that without a keyboard is another question - probably you'll have to borrow a keyboard or a USB to PS/2 Adapter from somebody.
Of course, it might be a completely different problem. Can you boot into that Linux installation? If so, does the Keyboard work there?
