Driver creation

Hi,

I am a bit interested to go ahead in System programming.Could anybody guide me over "How should I proceed for creating a driver "..?

Any help would b greatly appretiated.

I'm not sure how much I can help here, but I'd start by doing some research on the basics for designing a driver within the environment it's intended for. If that is Windows XP, then look for that.

Next I would do research on the device that the driver is intended to manage. Understanding this will be critical in producing working driver software for it.

Be warned!
Writing device drivers is tricksy stuff and can often be extremely difficult to debug. If you're not confident you are very able then I would reconsider the idea.
