Hi...
When i installed Nokia PC Suite, it just created a link to its application directly in MyComputer.
I can just see it below my drives.
I never thought this would be possible.
Does anyone know what registry changes i have to make,so that my application appears in MyComputer window?

Is this a program specific question (are you writing this program yourself) or do you want to take an application (like a game for example) and create a short cut to it in MyComputer? I

No,this is not a program specific question.
All i want to do is place the shortcut of an application(any app) directly in My Computer.
(If Nokia PC Suite can do it,why not me?!)

The link in My Computer is a link to the phone itself. The phone has been installed as a device on your computer thus it shows up as a storage device. The device driver is creating the link to it's own application.

So does that mean i cannot have my own app's link in My Computer?

I would think there would have to be a way. Couldn't you some how trick windows into thinking that a program is a network drive or emulated drive. I know this isn't the intended use, but its windows there has to be a way.

Just thinking off the top of my head, but couldn't you create an emulated drive with an image loaded with an autorun which runs a shortcut to your desired program? I know this is a lot of work and ties up more system resources than necessary, but it would work... I think.

It would certainly be possible, just think of virtual drives for instance. Also, I have seen a few other programs add links there. I wouldn't know how to do it though. But there are several open source tools (e.g. WinCDEmu) that do such things, so you could check it out!

Greetings,

I put my googling skills to some use and came up with this. I don't know if it works as I have no need of it.
