Um, you shouldn't need to do that - which program is this in? The AntiVirus program?

My AV program does not ask me to do this.. I just heard this from one of my friends and wanted to know if there is really something like this.. So would it suffice if i just run my AV without having to preset or disable anything?

You shouldn't have to - it will scan your system as is.

There is no need to DISAPLE anything on your system at all. No scanner should ever ask you to do such a thing.

It is recommended when scanning your PC you have all applications closed and just your scanner opened due to user performance because it is scanning your HD and can cause a bit of lag.

Good Luck
