hi friends,

When I connect an external monitor to my laptop, its working fine. But its unable to display motion picures..(like .avi)

I mean that I am able to get the same screen as my laptop monitor in my external monitor. But when I play a movie in my laptop, it plays well in the laptop monitor
but its unable to do the same in the external monitor. ..The funny part of this is, when I play a movie with subtitle, the movie doesn't get displayed, but the subtitle comes..(in ext monitor)

I've tried fiddling with the display settings and also the advanced option in the same(with powerplay)..

Can any one of you tell me how to rectify this?

regards
RSR

re: display settings

I had a similar issue with a video card a few years back. If I recall I think I updated my graphics and got a new build for it. Id try that as well check you’re direct X and your video card drivers, be sure they are up to date.

Give that a shot other wise I really can’t remember how I fixed my issue. But my desktop had done the same thing even on a 7800GTX to my TV display I ended up just using POWER DVD to display it on my TV from the PC.. It was odd that worked and my WINAMP didn’t on my TV picky stuff.

re: display settings

Rsr the solution is very simple. On your Laptop hit the Function + Display one or two times and while playing the movie Hit ALT ENTER this should fix it.

Good luck, Cyber.
