Hi guys, I need to know, recently I added a user account on my PC because of an invasion of privacy. But on my PC there was already another user, my stupid sister, who just uses my work and messes with my files.
So when I added a user account my user account type was computer administrator, hence I can update any programs I wanted, and set my password etc.
But it seems that now my user account type has changed to limited which is useless as i am restricted from doing nearly everything. I read that at least 1 person has to be a computer administrator option.
I want to now how I can get that user account type and change my now limited account, coz I have tried immensely and nothing works.
Basically her settings override mine and somehow she can mess around and drive me insane. I need help ASAP!!!
What can I do, Is there a way around this?
And its not fair, you people have never helped me out:(
Be nice and considerate Pls:)

Reena On XP Pro, there is always an account called "administrator" which is not always visible. On Home, you can try logging in with that user name
(possibly blank password, possibly one of your old passwords). Good luck,

On home you will have to first go into safe mode by pressing F8 before windows loads.

Try using Ctrl-Alt-Delete twice then entering 'Administrator'.
Try out blank or any other passwords you can think of.
Never create an admin account for someone you don't trust (whoever trusts their siblings? ;) ).

Hi guys,
I tried the safe mode, but it asks for a password. I tried to do what you guys said but it still wont work. Is there any other way to override the settings? It keeps saying password incorrect but I dont know what it is, we were using the same password, then when we went through some problems she changed it and wont tell me, I dont think the brat remembers either.
I hate siblings, their useless, so much for the speed of IT and user knowledge! Im using Windows XP Home Edition...

Thanks for all your help...Ahem Sashi... it didnt work i nearly died... I followed everything step by step and it took me a while...coz I was afraid id lose all my work. But I got stuck on step 11. It just wouldnt let me get passed it, kept saying the user was not recognised. I cant believe it I spent hours on it. I kept restarting when I knew I was actually re-installing XP I freaked but nope all my work was there, phew!
After that scare all I can say is people BACK UP... coz its not worth it praying and hoping everything is not lost, lol. Yeah the link did seem good tho...
Any Ideas...
