Hello.
I have a strange problem on my pc. Imagine i open Microsoft Excel, when i close it, the process excel.exe still continues in the task manager and with 99% of CPU usage. The process continues decreasing the memory allocated, but very slowly. Meanwhile the computer becomes very slow. If i end the process manually everything becomes normal.

Why does this happen?

It sounds like an out of control macro (possibly a virus). I think you can disable macros to test this theory.

re: Excel.exe

I've disabled the macros and the problem still persists. Even after a re-instalation os Office the problem continues. The solution os our helpdesk is to format the disk, but i only go that way if there's no other solution.
Any other suggestions?

Have you done a virus scan/removal yet?
