HELLO . my friend teched me a new trick it is simpler then pevious one ..and now i can disable any partition i want ..
to do that follow these 3 steps .....

left click on My Computer Icon select >> Manage ..then from left panel click on >> Disk Management .. and then from right panel select the partition you want to disable left cliclk on the selected partition >> chose .. Change Drive Letter and Paths..

and bellow press Remove Button ... that is done

is not that easier and more usefull then previous one ......

That depends on if you are trying to "hide" a partition, or just remove it. To remove it, yes, but to "hide" it from a user, that would not work out so well.

re: how to disable or hide a specific partion

perhaps you did not read my previous reply when asdfghjkl2007 told me this idea ,in reply i said that only C: D: partition are populated not all partition so we can not either hide or disable the partition other then C: and D: by that method
.and you said it depents on what we want to try ..so definetly i want to hide or disable a partition i dont even think about removing a partition .so this method does not remove your partition it only remove and change partititon letter like C: D: E: F: etc ..

shortly .. this method does not remove the partition it only remove or the partition letter .and if you wish to make partition vailable again it be done by the same method at any time....

khalidbaloch,

Sorry for the confusion, I was referring only to the post that you put up where you went through My Computer->Manage. You are right, I just wanted to clarify that those were different things, for others who view this forum and want to try.

This is great, another idea would be to use policies for limited users, these are more complicated to make however and deal with registry. Good job guys on the posts. The disk management way is what came to my mind at first I usually use it to format new drives.

Good luck!

Dear Members,

Don't jump to conclusions to hide the partitions.. it is risky..
Initially it is fine.. later it is very great problem..
