I am thinking of purchasing visual studio 2008, damn it is expensive.
Is it constrained to the use of windows genuine advantage (WGA) as ms
office and windows are? I'm thinking of replacing the desktop next
year, and I would hate to replace it also.

You'd be better off asking in a dotnet group, this is a VB6
group.
